4 Eyeliner Looks We Love

4 Eyeliner Looks We Love

Bold, unique, or subtle. Take your pick of these 4 eyeliner styles we love and how to achieve them!

BOLD WINGED LIQUID LINER

Bold Winged Liner Look

Winged eyeliner looks are timeless and totally worth learning how to perfect.

Step 1: Start your bold eyeliner winged look by tight lining your lash line. This technique simply involves lining the waterline on your upper eye. This creates the subtle illusion of more defined lashes.

Step 2: Next, line your entire upper lash line. You can make this easier by starting in the middle and working your way out.

Pro tip: Sit down while you apply the eyeliner so you can rest your elbow on a flat surface. This steady hand hack is genius.

Step 3: Then work your way from the inner eye to the middle.

Keep the line thin towards the inner eye and make it thicker as you extend outwards. Make it as thick as you like depending on how bold you want to go with this look.

Step 4: With the upper lash line done, it’s time to do the wing. We suggest using the ‘card trick’ to get the perfect wing. Take a clean piece of cardboard - the size of a credit card - and lay it against your eye on a diagonal angle for your wing.

Draw your wing on the eyelid using the card as your guide. The idea is to actually take the line along the card, so when you remove it, you’re left with the perfect flick and crisp edge!

If you plan to draw your wing free-hand, start off small and gradually add onto it to avoid big mistakes.

GRAPHIC EYELINER - ARROW

Graphic Eyeliner Look

This unique eyeliner look is the wing...and then some!

Add a little cool creativity to your eye makeup with the graphic eyeliner look. Don’t be intimidated to try this, it’s actually easier than it seems.

Step 1: The first part of this look is drawing on your winged eyeliner. So go ahead and follow the steps in the tutorial above.

Step 2: Next, starting from the middle* of your eye draw a second line just above the crease to connect with the end of your wing to create the arrow shape.

*You can extend the line further towards the inner eye or shorter than the middle. The further towards your inner eye, the more dramatic the look.

Step 3 (optional): You can really turn up the drama here by filling in the space between the two lines with a pop of bright look-at-me eyeshadow.

Step 4: Finish with mascara.

A good tip for cleaning up any lines or little mistakes with liquid eyeliner styles is to use a clean cotton bud and clean it up with oil-free makeup remover. This works like a charm!

SUBTLE LIQUID LINER

Subtle Liquid Liner Look

You don’t need to go bold for look-at-me eyes.

We love the subtle liquid liner look for work or everyday wear. It’s simple but still gives your eyes a lift that leaves them looking spectacular but not overly made up.

Step 1: Using an eyeliner pencil, line your entire upper waterline then your lashline. Using a pencil for this step keeps the look natural.

Step 2: Time to add a little more definition with the liquid liner. Take your liquid liner and draw (or use the connect-the-dot technique) a very thin line from your inner eye taking it to your outer lashes gradually thickening the line to create the wing. You can keep the flick small or extend it further. The longer the wing is, the less subtle the result.

Step 3: Finish with mascara.

Pro tip: A liquid liner that delivers a thin and precise line is a must for this look! This makes PONi Pegasus Smudge Proof Liquid Eyeliner the perfect choice.

REVERSE EYELINER LOOK

Reverse Eyeliner Look

This look gives all the glory to your lower lash line. It’s your best eyeliner efforts...in reverse.

It’s one of those eyeliner looks that might seem a little complicated but don’t worry, you got this!

Step 1: Take your liquid liner and line your entire bottom lash line - really close to the lash line.

Step 2: Extend the line beyond the corner of your eye to create a ‘reverse wing’.

Essentially, use the exact same concept as you would use with your normal winged liner. The only real difference is that you are focusing more on the wing starting from beneath.

Step 3: Line underneath your lower waterline just like you would line your upper lash line.

Step 4 (optional): You can line your upper lashes too, or keep your upper lid makeup really simple to let your bottom lash line shine.

Step 5: Finish with a coat of mascara on your upper lashes
